Kirschenmann]. Fast forward 40 years, and that number rises from four people to 73. Fast forward through 80 years of agricultural and bioscience innovation, and in the 2010s, one farmer produces enough food to feed 155 people [sources:

Sodeč po temle odstavku, je v Ameriki rasla produktivnost na farmah podobno, celo malo bolj. Gre za tehnološki razvoj v kmetovanju in vedno večji specializacije in povečanju velikosti farm. Veliko je odvisno tudi od cene delovne sile. V USA malo izkoriščajo migracijo, ki nima nobenih pravic. V JAR tega nimajo. V obeh primerih pa verjetno gre za izkoriščanje, ki v JAR očitno povzroča težave v Usa pa težave vrnejo v matične države.
