Mosley confirms: Deal reached for unified F1 championship
24 June 2009
FIA president Mas Mosley has said in Paris there will be a unified Formula One championship next season after the FIA managed to complete a cost-cutting deal with the eight Formula 1 teams which threatened to form a rival series next season.
"There will be no split. We have agreed to a reduction of costs," Mosley confirmed in Paris. "There will be one F1 championship but the objective is to get back to the spending levels of the early 90s within two years."
