Couldn't get in it unfortunately. It's not as ugly as I thought it would be when you see it in person.
I've got my deposit down.
Thoughts:
- The doors look big, and have a low floor line. I know someone who has leg issues who is looking to this car for one pedal driving, this is a bonus for him and anyone who wants easy entry/exit.
- The front is too stubby, but it's not as bad in person as in pictures
-The backseats are higher up than the drivers.
- The reflectors and lower lights design looks dated compared to the Volt, and to the Bolt's head/tail lights
- The wheels are much narrower than the Volt
Unconfirmed: the rep told me the car would brick 5kWh, leaving you 55kWh to use. Nice!
Also - here's a 360 of the interior if you haven't seen it yet: http://www.360revo.com/cas16/chevyboltint/

Opel plans electric car in 2017
Neumann said that Opel will launch an 'Ampera-e' [Chevrolet Bolt-based] electric vehicle next year and that it will be affordable and with 300km of range. "It will be the first electric car in the mass-market, not like Tesla. It will have more than 300km of reach and an affordable price. It is not an Astra with an electric engine in it. It is an all-new designed car which takes advantage of electrification because the battery is low to create a lot of space and utility. Plus we will fit next generation connectivity to the vehicle, so it will be much more than just an electric car, it will be a technology lightbulb."
The Ampera-e is more or less a Chevrolet Bolt with a different body, though it's still a tall five-door hatchback. For the moment, there is no news as to whether or not there will be an Ampera-e for Vauxhall.

Chevy just released a few images and a quick teaser video of its Bolt EV going through pre-production on its Michigan assembly line, one of the final steps before actual production. The Bolt is expected to be in at least some dealerships by the end of this year, promising a reasonably practical 200-mile electric range and a price around $30,000 after credits.
