Violent far-right protests have erupted across UK with mobs clashing with the police and resorting to arson after the murder of three children in a stabbing attack on July 29. About 90 people were arrested on August 3 after skirmishes broke out in Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Blackpool and Hull, as well as Belfast in Northern Ireland. The protests followed claims and speculations on social media that the 17-year-old suspect in the Southport dance class stabbing was a Muslim immigrant. Several of these claims were later reported to be false.
