a great coat, suitable for most extreme weather conditions, the only downside is that it feels fairly heavy to wear, but redeems itself in how warm and durable it is. The adjustable hood isnt atall flimsy and is made of the same material as the jacket (unlike other brands where you have a good jacket and a crappy thin hood. On this jacket the hood can be un-zipped from the jacket, it can be folded away into the collar, it has a velcro strap ontop (to form a peak, for added rain drain off) and also has velcro so it can be done up around the chin, also with elastic pullcords to tighten it up around the face. The main zip has storm-flaps along with a handy pocket concealed inside the flaps (good for keeping mobile phone/wallet secure and protected, yet accessible.) unlike other coats where you have to unzip the entire front to access the inside pockets. the fleece is also very warm and has zipped pockets (that i use as extra inside pockets, and the fact it is reversible means that if it starts to rain and your only wearing the fleece, simply flip it inside out and your protected from the rain until you can shove a larger coat on. (sounds silly but id rather be in a waterproof jacket, than a drenched fleece.) basically these used to RRP at £110, and at £110 its still a bargain, considering you would pay in excess of £170 or even £200 for a "north face" or a "berghaus" brand that does exactly the same jacket ... now at £50 - you simply cannot afford to leave it on the shelf. also dont worry about the jacket ripping, ive barged my way through endless stingy nettles wearing this and havent had a problem yet. regatta and tresspass may be struggling in the credit crunch, ever wondered why its all top notch stuff for cheap prices??? HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS TO ANYBODY, REMEMBER TO BUY A SIZE LARGER THAN USUAL DUE TO THE FLEECE AND/OR ANY BASE LAYERS THAT YOU MIGHT BE WEARING AT THE TIME. 10/10, 5-STARS.
